Jay Haide à l'ancienne cellos are handmade in the Italian tradition. The special model cellos are made from European woods. The cellos feature two piece highly flamed maple backs with matching ribs, neck and scroll. The two piece spruce tops contain a fine width grain. The orange-brown oil varnish displays much patina. Fitted with ebony pegs and a German Wittner tailpiece. These instruments are quite striking because of their finished looks. The quality of antiquing gives a hundred year old look to them. These cellos have a very powerful focused sound and are excellent instruments for the more intermediate and advanced player.
